About

01 / Intro

Math and computer science

I'm an IB Diploma student at the British International School of Boston, class of 2027, taking Higher Level Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. I plan to study Mathematics with Computer Science, and I want to work in medtech, with people who build tools that help people.

02 / Programming

From USACO Bronze to Platinum

I started competitive programming in the USACO Bronze division in 2021 and reached Platinum in 2026. Along the way I took college-level data structures and algorithms at KTByte CS Academy. Day to day I work in Swift and SwiftUI, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Prisma.

03 / Why I build

Growing up in open source

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 17 months, so I have no memory of life without it. I grew up inside the #WeAreNotWaiting movement, where patients build what industry hasn't shipped yet. Today an open-source system doses my insulin automatically, including while I sleep. I'm both a user and a developer of this kind of software. That's what led me to start BoostT1D.

04 / Community

Showing up for other families

I co-moderate a Russian-speaking Type 1 Diabetes community of 8,000+ families. I also sit on a Youth Advisory Committee that advises pediatric endocrinology providers on care, technology, and patient experience, and I mentor newly diagnosed kids and coordinate volunteers. In 2025 I represented Massachusetts as a delegate to the Breakthrough T1D Children's Congress and met members of Congress about T1D research and policy.

05 / Teaching

Tutoring at Easy STEM School

Since 2024 I've tutored at Easy STEM School: math, SAT Math, and intro computer science.

Ten Dance, piano, and cooking

I've been dancing since I was 7 and compete in Ten Dance, which means all five International Standard dances and all five International Latin dances. My titles so far are in Standard: World Finalist and US Bronze Medalist in the youth category. I was pushed to specialize and chose Standard for a while, but I love both, so I'm training to compete in Latin again. I also play piano and like to cook.

07 / THE BOOSTT1D STORY

How BoostT1D began

Aaron's Story, from a toddler diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes to a teen building tools to help others. On the left, Aaron as a young child using a blood glucose meter from an open testing kit; on the right, Aaron today holding the Congressional App Challenge national winner trophy.

Aaron was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 17 months old. Growing up, diabetes wasn’t something he could leave behind, it was part of every meal, every school day, every dance competition, and every late-night glucose alarm.

As he got older, he realized that managing diabetes wasn’t just about numbers. It was about making hundreds of decisions every day while trying to live a normal life. Existing apps could record data, but they rarely helped answer the questions that mattered most: Why did this happen? What can I learn? What should I do differently next time?

When Aaron began volunteering with newly diagnosed families, he met children who were frightened and parents who felt completely overwhelmed. He saw how much easier those first weeks could be if someone who had already walked the same path was there to help.

That’s how BoostT1D began.

Built by someone living with Type 1 diabetes, BoostT1D combines artificial intelligence with real-life experience to help people understand their glucose patterns, analyze meals, recognize trends, and make more informed decisions every day. Beyond technology, it brings people together through a supportive community where no one has to navigate diabetes alone.

Today, BoostT1D is a Congressional App Challenge National Winner and has been recognized for using technology to improve the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes. But Aaron’s mission hasn’t changed: to make life with diabetes a little less overwhelming, one insight, one conversation, and one family at a time.
